In 1947, he founded the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) in Ahmedabad, which later became the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA).
Dr. Sarabhai played a key role in the establishment of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), which was founded in 1969. He served as the first chairman of ISRO and was instrumental in the development of India’s space program, which has made significant achievements in satellite technology, launch vehicle development, and space-based applications.
